Diamanti: loro cura e conservazione.

“I diamanti sono i migliori amici della donna” … frase diventata famosa grazie alla diva Marilyn Monroe, con la quale si é sdoganato Adamas (il Diamante) e reso desiderabile da milioni di donne il suo mito.

Lo slogan di una nota multinazionale del diamante affermava che “Un diamante é per sempre”. Tuttavia dal momento del dono, che in genere avviene in circostanze che resteranno per sempre incise nei cuori delle donne che lo ricevono, il diamante ha bisogno di precise cure per garantirne sempre lo splendore o il brillio tipico, a prescindere dal tipo di taglio.

In un periodo che può variare da 3 a 6 mesi, il diamante dovrebbe essere portato dall’orafo o gioielliere di fiducia, per i normali controlli di routine che includono:

• pulizia accurata: i diamanti come d’altronde anche altre gemme, per normale uso, nella parte inferiore tendono ad accumulare una patina che offusca lo splendore e ne annulla la lucentezza, il brillio.

In aggiunta:

• tenuta griffe: in questa fase si controllano tutte le griffe e i diamanti per vedere se sono ancora nella loro sede e se le griffe stesse non presentano usure.
• ripristino del colore bianco (trattamento del rodio): bisogna ridurre i graffi o le eventuali ammaccature sulle montature che si producono durante un indosso quotidiano.

• Accurate cleaning: diamonds as well other gems, tend to accumulate in the lower part a veiling patina that blurs the splendour and remove the sheen.

Additionally:

• Checking the prong status: at this stage, you control all the prongs and diamonds to see if they are still in their seat and if the prongs do not show any damage or usury.
• Restoration of gold whiteness (rhodium treatment): it is necessary to reduce the scratches or the possible dents on the frames that are produced during a daily wear.
